Students and enthusiasts of martial arts have many reasons for their interest in the martial arts. Some are drawn to the physical fitness and weight-loss aspects of training. Whether you are interested in our programs for mental or physical well being, KMA Brisbane offers a number of programs that will fit your developmental needs and your busy schedule as well.

 

 

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
It is Not Your Size or Strength That Matters, Because in Brazilian Jiujitsu, If You Don’t Have It, You Can Steal It! Brazilian Jiujitsu is an art designed to help a smaller person use the force and energy of their stronger opponent against them. The philosophy is simple: If attacked, defend, get into a dominant position and get a submission (a joint lock or a choke)... as quickly as possible!

Our Brazilian Jiu - Jitsu is taught by Coach Grand Master David King under instruction and guidance of  Grand Master Fari Salievski (KMA Liverpool). 

So whether you want to learn effective self-defence for personal safety, for tournaments, for MMA™ or simply as a new and exciting way to stay fit & healthy, we’ll train you to effectively neutralise kicks and punches. Teaching you submissions, be it standing or on the ground to overcome your opponent.

We strive in delivering a fun friendly family environment with classes suitable for both men and women.

Hapkido
Hapkido is known as “The way of coordinated power.” It is the ancient art of masters and is regarded by many as a complete self defence system. Master Fari Salievski has taken this system to a whole new level developing Hapkido Combatives™

Our Hapkido Combatives™ self-defence program covers pressure points, joint locks, sweeps & throws, low and high kicks combining kickboxing & grappling sets. It also covers kickboxing drills/training and essential ground fighting submission techniques.

While we wish it was not even a factor in our program, the fact remains that we live in a dangerous world. Our Mixed Martial Arts program will teach you how to protect yourself, your family and loved ones from danger.

Each class is built around dynamic energy to get you energised and motivated to bring out your best. Everyone can (and should) earn a black belt, our classes are suitable for men and women.  With private one-on-one personalised training is affiliated to Korea Hapkido International and we will help you get your Black Belt through our proven success system.

Hapkido is our most popular Adults Class.

 

Taekwondo
Master David King 7th Dan Kukkiwon Black Belt this art form, with over 30 years teaching and competition experience.  We teach WT Style Taekwondo (Olympic) which is recognized world wide. This traditional martial art is a favorite amongst families and children. With its basic and effective self defence techniques its great for beginners. Taekwondo is renowned for its dynamic power kicks. With plenty of options for competition through Poomse (forms) and Sparring (fighting) it makes it a great sport as well.  

Little Dragons

Little Dragons 3-6yrs
KMA teaches children self-defence skills that could save their lives. While we wish it was not even a factor in our program, the fact remains that we live in a world full of undesirable people. Our Martial Arts will teach your child how to protect themselves from danger. This invaluable skill may even save their lives one day.

Preparing your children for the future starts from age 4-6.

- Personal Safety Martial Arts Skills Coordination - balance - control - agility - flexibility .

Your child even at this age will develop a work ethic by learning new skills and working towards their next belt level! At the same time your child will develop confidence and awareness to prepare them for school and begin to feel comfortable avoiding anxiety by not being with mum or dad every single moment of the day.

Champion Kids Hapkido Or Taekwondo (under 12 years)
Your child will learn Life Skills, Discipline, Focus, Concentration. Learn Safety Skills Stranger Danger, Bully prevention.

Kickboxing (casual classes available)

Our Kickboxing classes are high energy, dedicated to fat burning and cardio. Come get fit whilst learning technique and application of fight skills.  A friendly fitness environment aimed at teens and adults. Pathways to competition are available.
